
PawSox Survive for 7-6 Win over Columbus

The PawSox have won 4 in a row, strengthening their grip on first place in the North Division, taking Saturdays' outing from Columbus, 7-6. The PawSox (24-13) are a season-high 11 games ovber .500 for the year. It was a seesaw battle as the Sox and Clippers traded the lead back and forth before Josh Kroeger drove home the winning run with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the eighth. Kroeger had already blasted a two run home run and a single in the game. Pawtucket took advantage of two wild pitches by the Clippers with men at third base, scoring twice in the game.
Daisuke Matsuzaka made his second rehab start with Pawtucket. The righty allowed 5 runs on 7 hits, including a pair of two run homers. Dice-K walked one and struck out 5, going for 5 and a third innings, but did not figure in the decision. Garrett Mock (2-1) was the winner after going an inning and two thirds.
The series continues on Sunday at 1:05 p.m. Lefty David Huff (1-1) faces Ross Ohlendorf (3-3).
