
Paul Watson's 44 Points Lead Austin to 131-126 Victory over South Bay

AUSTIN - The Austin Spurs (12-10) defeated the South Bay Lakers (12-9), 131-126, Thursday afternoon at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park.
Paul Watson led the Spurs with a season-high 44 points on 14-of-18 shooting from the field and 9-of-12 from beyond the arc. RaiQuan Gray followed with 21 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists while Two-Way forward Dominick Barlow finished with 15 points.
The Lakers took the lead in the first quarter by 10, 34-24. Austin answered back in the second period as they cut South Bay's deficit to five, 36-31. Lakers guard Jalen Hood-Schifino led the first half with 22 points. Austin took control in the third frame as Watson notched 19 points in the quarter alone to push the Spurs ahead by 16 points, 105-89. Though the Lakers outscored Austin in the final period, it wasn't enough to overcome the Spurs.
Hood-Schifino led South Bay with 38 points. Bryce Hamilton tallied 33 points while Shaquille Harrison finished with a double-double with 23 points and 12 rebounds for the Lakers.

The Spurs will host the Santa Cruz Warriors on Wednesday, March. 6 with tipoff at 7 p.m. CT. The game will be available to watch on ESPN+ and Bally Sports Southwest.
