The Regina Pats (8-5-1-0) are on the road Wednesday for a rematch from the 2017 Eastern Conference Championship Series against the Lethbridge Hurricanes (5-5-0-0). Puck drop is at 7:00 p.m. at the Enmax Centre. The Pats are coming off a 6-3 win in Cranbrook over the Kootenay ICE on Tuesday night. The Hurricanes have been off since Sunday when they beat the Medicine Hat Tigers 7-2. Tonight is the first of four meetings between the Pats and Hurricanes in 2017-18. The game can be heard starting at 6:35 with Bennett Dunlop Ford Pats Hockey on 620 CKRM.

The Lead Up: Pats start road trip with win over Kootenay
The Regina Pats kicked off their four game road trip with a 6-3 win in Cranbrook B.C. over the Kootenay ICE on Tuesday. Robbie Holmes got the Pats on the board early with his first of the year, but 19 seconds later Brett Davis tied it for the ICE. Regina responded with goals from Matt Bradley (12) and Bryce Platt (3) on a penalty shot to lead 3-1 at the break. In the second, George King (5), Robbie Holmes (2) and Josh Mahura (4) gave Regina a 6-1 advantage on the road. In the final period, Kootenay got two back with the powerplay, but the Pats held on for the 6-3 victory and improved to 7-3-0-0 in the month of October. Regina outshot the ICE 39-26, the powerplay was one for two and the penalty kill five for seven. Sam Steel, Josh Mahura, Emil Oksanen and Bryce Platt each had two points, while Tyler Brown made 23 saves.

The Pats went 2-1-1-0 against Lethbridge during the 2016-17 season, winning the first two matchups and dropping the last two. Both teams won once at home and once on the road. Sam Steel led Regina with eight points in the season series while the Hurricanes Tyler Wong put up six points. The Pats and Hurricanes would meet in the playoffs for a second straight year, with the Pats winning in six games in the Eastern Conference Championship series. Entering Wednesday night, the Pats sit fourth in the East Division with 17 points, two back of the first place Swift Current Broncos. The Hurricanes have 10 points and are fifth in the Central Division, four points back of the Medicine Hat Tigers.
Cole Muir Gets First Point
Pats forward Cole Muir picked up his first WHL point on Tuesday night against the Kootenay ICE. The 16-year-old picked up an assist in the second period on George King's fifth goal of the year. Muir, the Pats top pick in the second round of the 2016 WHL Bantam Draft, has appeared in 10 games the season, has put up four shots on goal and has won 42.1 per cent of the faceoffs he's taken (16 for 38).

With Tuesday night's win, the Pats improved to 7-3-0-0 in the month of October, picking up 14 of a possible 20 points. Regina has outscored their opponents 39-29, the powerplay has gone 12 for 41 (29.2%) and the penalty kill 36 for 45 (80.0%) with three shorthanded goals. Sam Steel and Emil Oksanen have 13 points in those 10 games.
