Regina Pats News Release

Regina, Saskatchewan - The Regina Pats have reduced their rosters by 5 players, three have been re-assigned, while two have been granted their outright release.

Released:

(F) Ryan DePape

(F) Kirt Hill

This was a tough decision for Regina Pats General Manager Parker, "We knew this day was going to come with our overage situation, and we felt that the sooner we made the decision the better it would be for Ryan and Kirt." Parker continues, "Doing it now will hopefully give them the opportunity to catch on with another WHL team. We thank them both for their efforts and wish them all the best."

Re-Assigned:

(D) Tyler Borstmayer - Tisdale (SMAAAHL)

(D) Travis Sparrow - Moose Jaw (SMAAAHL)

(F) Andrew Rieder - Regina (SMAAAHL)

"All three of the young guys played well, and are a part of our future plans." Parker explains, "One more year of development will be good for them all."

The roster is currently at 29 players (9 Defencemen, 16 Forwards, 4 Goaltenders). The Pats are on the ice this afternoon from 3pm to 5pm, tomorrow they will be practicing at the same time. The first pre-season game is Friday night in Brandon, while Saturday night, the Pats will host the Brandon Wheat Kings at 7pm at the Brandt Centre
