Pats Top Warriors in 2nd Annual Trans - Canada Clash

REGINA, SK - The Regina Pats Alumni defeated the Moose Jaw Warriors Alumni by the score of 3-2 Saturday afternoon, in front of 5,657 spectators at the Brandt Centre.

The Pats were led by game star Darrin McKechnie who scored a goal and added an assist on the game winner, while Derek Eberle and Brian Varga added singles for the Pats Alumni. The Warriors were led by the player of the game from the Warriors Kevin Smyth who scored a goal and added an assist, while Derek Kletzel scored the other Warrior goal.

The Pats and Warriors rosters were loaded with former WHL stars including Dale Derkatch, Stu Grimson and Rod Houk of the Pats and Theoren Fleury, Darryl LaPlante and Pat Beauschene of the Moose Jaw Warriors. The rosters also included Alumni Head coaches on both sides as Al Dumba (1973-1976) and Brad Tippett (1989-1993) were behind the bench for the Pats, while Greg Kvisle (1985-1991) and Barry Trapp (1985-1986) controlled the Warriors bench.
