
Ice Freeze Bruins in Shootout

Chilliwack BC - Dustin Sylvester scored the winner in the shootout as the Kootenay Ice skated to a 4-3 win in teh shoout over the Chilliwack Bruins.
The Bruins and Ice battled back and forth all night, with plenty of lead changes. Oscar Moller scored to give the Bruins a 1-0 lead after one period. The Ice countered with two quick goals, both by Captain Steve DaSilva to take a 2-1 lead early in the middle frame. The teams then exchanged goals. Nick Holden made it 2-2 mid way thru the period, Dustin Sylvester regained teh lead for the Ice to make it 3-2 Ice. David Robinson capped off a wild period of scoring, netting a shorthanded marker to toe things at 3-3 thru 40 minutes of play. After an entertaining, but scoreless 3rd period and overtime, Sylvester was teh only player to beat a goalie in the shootout, going glove side on Mark Friesen for the deciding tally.
Friesen takes his second straight shhout loss while Kris Lazeruk notched his 19th victory of the season.
The Bruins now play 3 on the road, starting Saturday night in Kelowna.
