Pats Preparing for CHL Import Draft

Regina, Saskatchewan - Regina Pats General Manager Chad Lang and his staff are getting ready for the 2012 CHL Import Draft coming up tomorrow at 7:00 a.m. MST.

The Pats hold the 32nd and 92nd picks in this year's draft which will be opened up by the QMJHL's Moncton Wildcats who acquired the first overall pick from the expansion Sherbrooke Phoenix.

In last year's draft, Regina used the ninth overall selection to pick forward Dominik Volek who went on to tally 32 points in his first WHL season in 2011-12.

Lang on the state of draft preparations, "right now it's a matter of gathering as much information on these players as possible, making sure that we rank them in priority correctly and do our due diligence to ensure these players are eligible to come over and they're free of any contracts in their home country."
