
Cain Franson to Attend Canucks Prospect Camp

VANCOUVER, BC - The Vancouver Giants Hockey Club is pleased to announce that forward Cain Franson will attend the Vancouver Canucks Prospect Development Camp running June 29 through July 2 here in Vancouver. Having gone unclaimed in the 2012 NHL Draft, Franson will attend the camp as a free agent invitee.
The native of Sicamous, BC, had a break-out season with the Giants in 2011/2012, registering 27 goals, 31 assists, a +26 rating and 31 PIM in 70 regular season games played. He then added 5 goals and 2 assists in 6 post-season games.
The 19-year-old is listed at 6'1", 168 lbs, and can play both centre and on the wing. His older brother is Cody Franson, a former Giant blueliner that has gone on to begin a solid NHL career in Nashville and now with the Toronto Maple Leafs. Cody was inducted to the Giants Ring of Honour last season.
