September 9, 2022 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Regina Pats News Release
Regina, Sask. - The Regina Pats Hockey Club is pleased to announce the signing of 2005-born defenceman Ty Plaiser to a Western Hockey League Standard Player Agreement.
Plaiser, 17, recorded 26 points (9G-17A) in 44 games in 2021-22 with the Southwest Cougars U18 AAA team. The Virden, Man. product stands at 6-foot-2, 187 lb. and was drafted by the Pats in the fourth-round (74th overall) of the 2020 WHL Prospects Draft.
"He's a very competitive guy, who really wants to play in our league [WHL], and for the Pats," Regina Pats GM and Head Coach John Paddock said. "We like a lot of his attributes. He plays very hard, he's a little bit stronger from last year, quicker and more experienced. He's taken a step, and now we will see how it translates."
The Pats are excited to welcome Ty and his family to the organization, and would like to give him a warm welcome to the City of Regina.
A reminder, the Regina Pats will have five pre-season games before their home opener against the Moose Jaw Warriors on September 23. The Pats begin their pre-season schedule tonight in Prince Albert before coming home on Saturday, September 10 to complete their home-and-home against the Raiders inside the Brandt Centre.
