Pats Host Oil Kings to End Homestand

Regina, Sask. - It's Armed Forces night, as the Regina Pats look to bounce back with the finale of their five-game homestand on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. against the Edmonton Oil Kings inside the Brandt Centre.

The Pats are coming off a 5-2 loss to the Swift Current Broncos on Saturday inside the Brandt Centre, falling to 1-3 over the first four contests of their five-game homestand. The Pats trailed 3-0 after two, before attempting a comeback in the third, scoring two power play goals to bring the club within one.

Stanislav Svozil (1G-1A), Alexander Suzdalev (1G-1A) and Connor Bedard (2A) each recorded multi-point games, while Matthew Kieper allowed four goals on 24 shots. The final shots were 42-25 for the Pats, and 16-6 Regina in the third. The Pats went 2-8 on the power play and 4-4 on the penalty kill.

The Oil Kings are coming off a 7-2 loss last night in Moose Jaw after they snapped their nine game losing-streak with a 4-3 win over the Victoria Royals on Friday, November 4 at home.

The Oil Kings are coming off a 50-14-3-1 season with 104 points which was good for second in the WHL, eventually leading to their third WHL championship (2012, 2014, 2022), in their fourth finals appearance in the last 10 years, defeating the Seattle Thunderbirds in six games...they reached the Memorial Cup where they went 1-1-1.
