Regina Pats News Release
Regina, Saskatchewan - The Regina Pats Hockey Club, in partnership with 22Fresh, is pleased to announce they will host their Cancer Awareness Game on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at 7 p.m. against the Winnipeg ICE at the Brandt Centre.
The Pats will be wearing themed jerseys designed by 22Fresh for this game, which will be auctioned off online in the days leading up to February 18. Following the game, any winning bidders in attendance will receive their jersey directly from the player on the ice.
"This game is one of the most important of the season, especially since we haven't had the opportunity to host one since 2020," Pats CEO Gord Pritchard said. "While our organization focused specifically on breast cancer in the past, this year we wanted to widen the scope and invite all those that have been impacted by this horrific disease to join us in the fight against cancer."
Additionally, the Pats and 22Fresh have partnered on limited edition merchandise. The themed t-shirts and hoodies will go on sale starting Wednesday, February 15 in-store only at the Pats Store, and online and in-store at 22Fresh.
Net proceeds from the jersey auction and all themed merchandise will go to the Cancer Foundation of Saskatchewan.
"At 22Fresh, we believe in the power of community and coming together to make a difference. That's why we are proud to announce our partnership with the Regina Pats Hockey Club for a special cancer awareness night," said 22Fresh President and CEO Kip Simon. "We are honoured to be working side by side with the organization- and truly believe efforts like this help make a difference in the fight against cancer."
The themed jersey auction will go live at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, February 15. You can place a bid at: 32auctions.com/PatsCancerAwareness. The auction will close on Saturday, February 18 at 8 p.m.
Saturday's game will also include a special pre-game ceremony where all fans will have a chance to honour or show their support for a loved one affected by cancer by writing their own message on an "I Fight For" card.
There will be a 22Fresh pop-up tent set up above Section 114 during Saturday's game that will be selling limited quantities of the themed merchandise.
This game will be the 14th Cancer Awareness game for the Pats. Over the last 13 years, the hockey club has raised more than $110,000 through their Breast Cancer Awareness Nights.
