
Patriots Shut out Blue Crabs in Game Two of Double Header

Bridgewater, NJ- The Somerset Patriots defeated the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs 3-0 in front of 6,827 fans in game two of a double-header at TD Bank Ballpark on Saturday evening.
An RBI double by Colin Curtis brought home Freddie Bynum for Somerset's first run in the bottom of the third inning. A few batters later, Curtis came around to score on an error by center fielder Jeremy Owens for the 2-0 lead.
The Patriots tacked on their final run in the bottom of the fifth on an RBI single by Dan Hennigan to make the score 3-0.
Patriots reliever Andy Sisco (1-0) got the win after striking out one in an inning of work. Southern Maryland starter Daryl Thompson (1-0) suffered the loss, allowing two runs on three hits in three innings pitched. Andrew Dobies came on to pitch the seventh inning and pick up his fifth save of the season.
The 2012 Somerset Patriots Season presented by Ford will continue at home on Sunday evening when the Patriots take on the Blue Crabs at 5:05 pm.
