
Patriots Defeat Skeeters 5-3

Bridgewater, NJ- The Somerset Patriots defeated the Sugar Land Skeeters 5-3 at TD Bank Ballpark on Thursday evening.
The Patriots took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning on an RBI single by Jonny Tucker.
Somerset added three runs to the lead in the bottom of the third inning. Two runs scored on a triple by Luis Montanez and a sacrifice fly by Brian Barden gave the Patriots a 4-0 lead.
Montanez's RBI single in the bottom of the fifth upped Somerset's lead to 5-0.
Sugar Land got on the board with a run in the top of the eighth inning on an RBI single by Dominic Ramos that made the score 5-1.
The Skeeters cut the lead to 5-3 in the top of the ninth on an RBI single by Chase Lambin and an error that later allowed him to score.
Patriots starter Matt Langwell (5-6) picked up the win, allowing a run on six hits in eight innings pitched. Sugar Land starter Clint Everts (2-7) suffered the loss, allowing five runs on nine hits in six innings pitched. Jon Hunton earned his 24th save of the season.
