Chicago Wolves News Release

The Chicago Wolves have named Chicago native and 25-year National Hockey League broadcasting veteran PAT FOLEY the team's play-by-play announcer.

FOLEY makes his Wolves debut on Oct. 7, when the team enters its fourth season of televising every regular-season game - including all 40 home contests - as well as every playoff game, live on Comcast Cable.

"As far as professional organizations go, the Wolves are the top of the ladder," FOLEY said. "I am really looking forward to this opportunity. I get to remain at home in Chicago and broadcast to fans I've had a relationship with for 25 years."

Prior to joining the Wolves, FOLEY, a graduate of Loyola Academy in Wilmette, called Chicago Blackhawks games for a quarter of a century. He made his professional broadcasting debut with the now defunct Grand Rapids Owls of the International Hockey League in 1977. He replaces Judd Sirott, who departs the team to become the play-by-play announcer for the NHL on HDNet.

"We had a need for a broadcaster and it seemed like the stars aligned for us," Wolves Chairman of the Board Don Levin said. "I couldn't believe that a true Chicago broadcasting legend like Pat was available. We are excited to welcome him to the organization."

Added Levin: "While we are thrilled for Judd, we are also certainly going to miss him on a daily basis. The good news is he has agreed to do special assignments for the Wolves. We are very happy that he gets to remain part of the Wolves family."

The 52-year-old FOLEY received an Emmy for "Outstanding Achievement - Sports Program Live Series" in 1991 and was inducted into the Chicago Sports Hall of Fame in 2002.

"The efforts of the Wolves on the ice and the voice of Pat in the booth will be inspirational as Comcast of Greater Chicagoland continues to provide the quality sports and entertainment programming our customers expect," said Comcast Vice President of Marketing Eric Schaefer.

FOLEY will be re-united with Wolves Color Analyst Bill Gardner, whom he previously worked with in the Blackhawks broadcast booth from 1998 to 2002.
