Stars commentator joins NHL

DES MOINES, IA - The Iowa Stars today confirmed that a member of the Stars television broadcast team will be departing the Stars for the National Hockey League (NHL). The New Jersey Devils have named former forward Tom Chorske color commentator for their radio broadcasts on Radio 66 WFAN. Chorske recently served in the same capacity for the Iowa Stars television broadcasts on Mediacom.

Chorske rejoins the organization he played 244 games with from 1991-1995. A Minnesota native and a former Golden Gopher at the University of Minnesota, Tom was a member of the Devils 1995 Stanley Cup Championship team.

"We were thrilled Tom was able to add his insight and knowledge of the sport to Stars games during our first season", commented Stars President John Pettit. "We wish him the best in his new endeavor".

IOWA STARS INFO: The Stars Opening Night is scheduled for Thursday, October 12th against Houston. Wells Fargo Arena game time is 7:05 PM.
