September 12, 2006 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Connecticut Whale News Release

Hartford, September 12, 2006: It's that time of year again as the Hartford Wolf Pack players and coaches trade in their skates for golf clubs to take part in the 7th Annual Hartford Wolf Pack Golf for Kids Tournament. This year's tournament will be held at the Golf Club of Avon (Avon, CT) on Tuesday, October 10th with a 10:30 a.m. shotgun start. Proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Children's Cancer Fund at Connecticut Children's Medical Center (CCMC).

More than 100 participants are expected for this prestigious annual tournament, which pairs a player or coach with teams of four. Started in the 2000-01 season, the popular tournament has raised almost $80,000 in six seasons. The event is a primary fundraiser for the Hartford Wolf Pack Community Foundation, whose mission is to help fund charitable and non-profit endeavors that offer support to inner-city youth, amateur sport, and promote the health, education and well-being of Connecticut's children.

In addition to 18 holes of golf, the tournament will feature lunch and dinner, golf contests, an auction, raffles, prizes, goodie bags, photo opportunities with the players and coaches, and much more.

Space and sponsorship opportunities are still available but limited. Registration deadline is October 2, 2006. Please visit our website: www.hartfordwolfpack.com or call Mary Lynn Gorman at 860-246-PUCK for more details.
