Regina Pats News Release
Pats Win Bantam Draft Lottery
Pats Pick Second
Luck was on the Pats' side Wednesday when the WHL held its annual Bantam Draft Lottery in Calgary. With three chances out of twenty-one in the lottery, the Pats ball was selected from among the six other teams involved. The win means the Pats move up two spots to pick second overall at the upcoming WHL Bantam Draft May 2nd. The lottery only applies to the first round of the draft, therefore in subsequent rounds (2-15) the Pats will pick sixth.
Pats to the Pros
Several Pats will continue their seasons with professional teams this year. Lane Scheidl signed his first pro-contract with the AHL's Worcester Sharks and saw his first action on the weekend, picking up his first AHL point in just his second game. Dyson Stevenson flew south to suit up for the ECHL's Bakersfield Condors. Stevenson chalked up his first fight with the Condors in his second contest with the team. This week, both Colton Jobke and Chandler Stephenson will join professional clubs as Jobke joins the Houston Aeros (AHL) and Stephenson suits up with the Hershey Bears (AHL).

Quotes of the Week
"We're excited our ball fell there and it gives us the opportunity to move up two spots and now select second overall. Obviously we don't want to be in this position and pick this early, but the fact that we are, there's no question we're excited about moving up." - Pats GM Chad Lang on winning the Draft Lottery
"Definitely a good feeling, something I've been working for my whole life and finally its going right. I'm excited and excited to get down there, I can't wait. " - Lane Scheidl on heading to Worcester (Courtesy Phil Andrews)
