Week in Review:

Friday, March 22nd, 2013 vs. Victoria Royals - 3-2 Win

The Blazers opened the 2013 WHL playoffs with a 3-2 win over the Victoria Royals. JC Lipon led the way scoring two goals for the Blazers including the winner in the third period. Kale Kessy notched the other goal for the Blazers while Colin Smith and Brendan Ranford each had two assists. Cole Cheveldave was phenomenal in the third period to preserve the win. Steven Hodges scored both Royals goals.

Saturday, March 23rd, 2013 vs. Victoria Royals - 6-4 Win

The Blazers survived a late third period rally by the Royals enroute to taking a 2-0 series lead with a 6-4 win. Joel Edmundson and Tim Bozon scored twice, while JC Lipon picked up four assists. Colin Smith had two assists and Brendan Ranford had a goal and a helper. Dylan Willick gave the Blazers insurance with an empty net goal. Jamie Crooks, Tyler Soy, Austin Carroll and Brandon Magee scored for the Royals. Cole Cheveldave made 20 saves for the win.

Blazers head to Island for Games 3 and 4

The Kamloops Blazers lead the Victoria Royals 2-0 in a WHL Western Conference best-of-seven quarter-final series. The hockey club will spend the week in Victoria for Game 3 on Tuesday and Game 4 on Thursday.

WHL Award and All-Stars

The WHL announced the 2012-13 award finalists and all-stars earlier this week. Blazers' forward Colin Smith was selected as a first team Western Conference all-star after putting up 41 goals and 106 points this season.

The Kamloops Blazers organization is the Western Conference nominee for the WHL Business / Marketing Award. All award winners will be announced during the WHL awards ceremony in Calgary on May 2.

Kamloops Blazers Hockey School August 2013

The 2013 Kamloops Blazers Hockey School is open for registration! Hockey School will be held from August 12th - 16th with the Blazers coaching staff, current and former players instructing. Make sure to register quickly as Hockey School is filling up fast!

Blazers Ranked 8th in the Final BMO CHL MasterCard Top 10

The Blazers are ranked 8th in the BMO CHL MasterCard Top 10 with a 47-20-2-3 record. The hockey club has been in the rankings for the entire season except the initial rankings. The Blazers have either been honourable mentions or as high as second in the rankings. To view the current rankings, follow this link.
