Mississippi Braves News Release
Greenville, SC-For the team's upcoming July 24th Thursday night game, broadcast live on Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast ("CSS") in 11 states across the Southeast, Greenville Braves management have called for extra help...from Margaritaville.
"With our game being broadcast into over 4 million homes in 11 states, we wanted to give fans an opportunity for something a little outside the box," said G-Braves General Manager Steve DeSalvo. "We've had Parrot heads for years ask that we do a Jimmy Buffett night, and thanks to the local Upstate Parrot head Club we are going to do just that. The Spartanburg Chapter will be selling special passes to a pre-game picnic and the ballgame for $10.00. Each pass admits 1 Adult & 1 Child (under 18) to a social hour at the G-Braves Picnic Tent before the G-Braves/Jacksonville Suns game where you can win prizes through a raffle. The pass will also be your ticket into the game after the Parrot head Social Hour.
The Parrot head Club will be raffling chances to take part in the On-Field games during the G-Braves/Jacksonville Suns July 24 game. Parrot head Passes must be purchased in advance from an Upstate Parrot head Club Member for the pre-game social hour and ballgame. Portions of the proceeds go to local Charities including The Ronald McDonald House and the CORE Initiative. Drinks and snacks will be served. For information on how to purchase the Parrot head Passes to the Social Hour and Ballgame contact Sarah Rolfes at 458-4941 or Brenda Yoder @ 299-3456.
If you can't make the Parrot head pre-game social hour and want to be a part of the Jimmy Buffett night simply wear your favorite Parrot head garb, or come dressed in Buffet-like beach attire and you will receive ½ price admission to the game, where the evening's entertainment will include Jimmy Buffett music played throughout the evening, as well as a few surprises.
Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast ("CSS") will carry the broadcast live, airing in the Upstate on Charter channel 58, and reaching approximately 4 million homes in 11 states, including North & South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, West Virginia, and Virginia.
