Mississippi Braves News Release

Greenville, SC-Beginning this week and continuing throughout the 2003 season, Braves fans across the Southeast will be able to catch a glimpse of exciting G-Braves action as well as see a showcase of other Double-A stadiums across the region thanks to a new agreement between the Greenville Braves and Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast ("CSS").

"This is a tremendous opportunity and a first for us as a franchise, one we've been working on for a while and are excited to launch," said G-Braves General Manager Steve DeSalvo. "It's not new news to anyone that the South is Braves country, and there's a tremendous amount of interest in our franchise across the region. For other markets, it gives a chance to follow our team closely. For Upstate baseball fans, it will also be a unique opportunity to see some incredible stadiums that many of our opponents in the Southern League have in their markets."

Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast ("CSS"), airing in the Upstate on Charter channel 58, reaches approximately 4 million homes in 11 states, including North & South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, West Virginia, and Virginia. All games will be broadcast live, including games on July 17th at Tennessee Smokies, July 24th vs. Jacksonville Suns at G-Braves Stadium, July 31st @ Carolina Mudcats, August 7th vs. Orlando Rays in Greenville, August 14th @ Carolina, and August 21st @ Jacksonville.

"We're excited about this partnership," said CSS Vice-President and General Manager Mike Sheehey. "Our viewers are passionate about the Braves organization, and this gives us the opportunity to showcase the organization's stars of tomorrow as well as some great new stadiums across the Southeast." Over the last 20 years, the Greenville Braves have sent over 120 players to the Major Leagues, including such stars as Chipper Jones, Andruw Jones, Steve Avery, Tom Glavine, Javy Lopez, and many more.

The G-Braves have been active in the community for 20 years, hosting special nights every year to benefit local charities and sponsoring charity functions throughout the year. The G-Braves also offer many other successful children's programs including the Pride in Carolina's Youth Reading Program, the Gatti-Town Braves Buddies Club and more.

The G-Braves are the Double-A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves, sending over 120 players to the major leagues. They remain the only franchise in minor league baseball to draw more than 200,000 fans/season for 19 consecutive years, and are celebrating its 20th season in Greenville.
