SUGAR LAND, Texas - The Sugar Land Skeeters launched a pair of three-run home runs in a 7-1 victory over Lancaster on Wednesday in front of 3,325 fans at Constellation Field. Chris Wallace moved into sole possession of first place in the Atlantic League home run race with his three-run shot in the fifth while Johan Limonta belted his first home run in a Sugar Land uniform. The Skeeters improve to 6-6 in the second half and 42-40 overall with the win.

Josh Geer turned in a stellar start for Sugar Land, going 7.0 innings, scattering eight hits and two walks while keeping the Barnstormers off the scoreboard. The right-hander had allowed 12 runs in his last two starts prior to tonight.

After exchanging zeroes for the first four frames, the Skeeters offense came alive in the bottom of the fifth, striking for four runs. Kevin Russo reached on an error with one out on a throwing miscue from third. Amadeo Zazueta drew a four-pitch walk to move Russo into scoring position before Delwyn Young broke the scoreless tie with a single into right, scoring Russo from second. Chris Wallace continued his hot-streak by blasting his Atlantic League-leading 12th-home run of the season with a three-run bomb to straightaway centerfield.

Sugar Land again utilized the long ball in the bottom of the sixth on a three-run shot from Johan Limonta. Zazueta deposited a one-out single into center and Russo drew a walk. Limonta rocketed Kyle Simon's 1-0 offering into the bullpen in right, inflating the Skeeters cushion to 7-0. The long ball was the first by Limonta in a Sugar Land uniform this season.

Lancaster got its lone run in the contest in the top of the eighth. After Andrew Johnston came in to relieve Geer, Kevin Rivers hit Johnston's first-pitch offering to right to trim the gap to 7-1, but the Johnston and Cory VanAllen retired the final six batters to preserve the win.
