Pair of Home Runs Ignite Tri-City Victory

Tri-City Dust Devils News Release


The Tri-City Dust Devils used two home runs and a pair of RBI triples in the late innings to come from behind and defeat the Boise Hawks 11-5 Monday night at Gesa Stadium. The Dust Devils (8-10) trailed 5-2 before scoring three runs in the seventh inning and six in the eighth on their way to the win.

Outfielder Ryan Garvey led the Dust Devils offense with a solo home run in the seventh and a two-run triple in the eighth. The home run is his first with Tri-City. Garvey went 3-for-3 on the night with a walk and three RBIs.

Tri-City catcher Robbie Perkins hit a two run blast over the Rick's Custom Fencing and Decking fence down the left field line, also his first with the Dust Devils, to tie the game at five in the seventh inning. Right fielder Marcos Derkes tagged on an RBI triple in the win.

Jerad McCrummen (2-0) got the win for Tri-City. McCrummen pitched three innings in relief of Dust Devils starter Blake Shouse and allowed just one run on two hits with a trio of strikeouts.

Jasvir Rakkar (0-1) took the loss for Boise (7-11). Rakkar pitched 2/3 of an inning, allowing six runs on seven hits.

Tri-City will play the third game of their five game set with the Hawks at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday night at Gesa Stadium. The Dust Devils will send righty Tyler Gagnon to the mound to square off with Hawks southpaw Tyler Ihrig. It will be Social Media Tuesday presented by Dura-Shine Clean.
