Frisco RoughRiders News Release

FRISCO, TEXAS - For the second time in the series, the Frisco RoughRiders, the Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, erased an early two-run deficit and went on to defeat the San Antonio Missions 4-2 Tuesday night at Dr Pepper Ballpark.

The RoughRiders (49-45 overall, 11-14 second half) hit two home runs in the game to climb in front of San Antonio. Lewis Brinson hit a solo home run, his 11th of the season, in the third to cut the Missions' lead to 2-1. Luis Marte put the Riders ahead for good in the bottom of the fifth with a two-run homer to left field that gave Frisco a 3-2 edge.

Frank Lopez (5-4) allowed two runs in the first inning, including a leadoff home run off the bat of Franchy Cordero. The left-hander, however, bounced back from the rough first frame and pitched six innings and struck out five batters in his second straight quality start.

After an insurance run on a Joe Jackson RBI single in the sixth, Joe Filomeno and John Fasola combined to keep the Missions (33-62, 11-14) off the board in the final three frames. Filomeno tossed two scoreless, hitless innings with four strikeouts. Fasola gave up a one-out single in the ninth, but he induced a game-ending double play to earn his third save of the year. As a staff, the RoughRiders did not allow another run in the game and held the Missions to just five hits after the first inning.

The Riders wrap up their four-game series with the Missions Wednesday at 7:05 p.m. at Dr Pepper Ballpark. Righty Connor Sadzeck (9-2, 3.09 ERA) is set to make the start for the RoughRiders against Kyle Lloyd (3-4, 3.94 ERA). Fans can watch the game on MiLB.tv (subscription required), and live coverage can be heard on the Frisco RoughRiders Radio Network, on the TuneIn Radio App, and the MiLB First Pitch App with the Dr Pepper Pregame Show at 6:30 p.m.

Wednesday's game is a Weiner Wednesday, presented by Texas Chili Company, at Dr Pepper Ballpark, featuring $1 hot dogs. Tickets for Wednesday's game and other remaining home games are available online at RidersBaseball.com, via email at info@ridersbaseball.com, over the phone at (972) 731-9200, or in-person at the RoughRiders box office.
