JUPITER, Fl - Fueled by a dominant performance by right-hander Andrew Painter, as well as a pair of two-run home runs from Anthony Quirion and Hao You Lee, the Clearwater Threshers pushed past the Jupiter Hammerheads 6-4 on Saturday night at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium.

Painter, the 13th overall selection in the 2021 MLB Draft by the Philadelphia Phillies, allowed only one earned run on four hits and struck out seven in a season-high six innings of work to secure his first win.

Trailing 1-0 in the fourth, the Threshers (23-20) evened the game on an RBI single by center fielder Wilfredo Flores.

The Hammerheads (24-20) took advantage of a Threshers error by second baseman Erick Brito in the home half of the fourth, and responded with two runs of their own to grab a 3-1 lead.

Following a walk by Marcus Lee Sang in the fifth, catcher Anthony Quirion launched his fifth homer of the season out to left field to again tie the contest 3-3.

After Painter worked a scoreless bottom portion of the fifth, the Threshers pushed home three runs in the sixth on a groundout by Lee Sang and a two-run home run by Hao Yu Lee to grab a 6-3 advantage. Lee continues to lead the Florida State League in RBI with 37 and the team in homers with seven.

Right-hander Victor Lopez entered on the mound in the seventh for Clearwater, striking out one and setting the Hammerheads down in order.

Leading 6-3, the Threshers sent righty Rodolfo Sanchez to the bump in the eighth and ninth innings. Sanchez worked a 1-2-3 eighth, before allowing a solo homer to Ian Lewis to begin the ninth. After the Hammerheads put two more runners on base, the right-hander was able to secure his first save of the season, and the 6-4 victory to snap a two-game skid on a groundout.

Clearwater will look to split the six-game set in the series finale on Sunday afternoon at 12:00 p.m. Lefty Matt Osterberg is scheduled to start for the Threshers, with coverage on the Threshers Broadcasting Network set for 11:50 a.m.
