April 16, 2012 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Tucson Padres News Release

Greg Gonzalez made a spot start for the Tucson Padres Monday, his first appearance at the Triple-A level. Gonzalez was filling in for Casey Kelly, who was placed on the 7-day DL with elbow soreness Monday. After pitching well in his first two innings, Gonzalez allowed five runs on seven hits in the third and Salt Lake cruised to a 6-2 win. The Padres two runs came on a Matt Clark RBI single and on a throwing error by Bees outfielder Ryan Langerhans.

After Gonzalez departed, the T-Pads bullpen was excellent. Eddie Kunz had his best appearance with Tucson, pitching 2.2 scoreless innings. Ryan Kelly threw two scoreless frames after Kunz for his second scoreless outing in as many days. Alex Hinshaw blanked the Bees in the eighth, at times touching 96 miles per hour on the stadium radar gun.

The Padres lost three of four in the series in Salt Lake and now have a 3-9 record. Tucson outfielder Blake Tekotte went 1-for-4 with a double and now has a ten-game hitting streak.
