Regina, Saskatchewan - Max Paddock made 32 saves for his second shutout of the year to lead the Pats to a 4-0 win over the Edmonton Oil Kings on Friday night at the Brandt Centre.
In the first, the Pats got the period's lone goal just over 11 minutes in. Austin Pratt tucked in his team leading 21st and it was 1-0 after one. In the middle frame, the Pats extended their lead on a five on three powerplay. Riley Krane picked up his 12th to make it 2-0. Four minutes later, the Pats got a shorthanded goal from Carter Massier on a breakaway, his second and it was 3-0 after 40 minutes. In the third, Regina got the lead to four when Garrett Wright ripped his fourth of the year into the top corner to make it 4-0 and that was the final.
The Pats were outshot 32-30, the powerplay was one for four and the penalty kill went five for five with a shorthanded goal. Austin Pratt led the offence with a goal and an assist, while Max Paddock made 32 saves for his second career shutout.
The Pats (16-36-1-2) are back in action Saturday night in Moose Jaw against the Warriors at 7 p.m. on 620 CKRM.
