
P-Nats start seven-game homestand Monday

WOODBRIDGE, Va- The second half of the 2009 season is well underway and your Potomac Nationals have their sights set on defending their 2008 Carolina League championship. After wrapping up their six-game road trip through Myrtle Beach and Kinston, the P-Nats return back to Woodbridge for a seven-game homestand as Potomac welcomes the Lynchburg Hillcats and the Kinston Indians to Pfitzner Stadium starting Monday, July 13th. Fans can experience every promotion that is part of the Uncle Slam Stimulus Package with the upcoming homestand!
Monday will bring the return of Dollar Monday to the ballpark where fans can buy tickets to the ballgame for just one dollar! On top of dollar tickets, the P-Nats will be selling hot dogs for only one dollar as well! So search the couch cushions and smash the piggy bank to come out to Pfitzner Stadium for Dollar Monday! Game time is 7:05 ET.
It will be a special start time Tuesday at the ballpark with the P-Nats and Hillcats set to duel at high noon as first pitch is scheduled for 12:05 ET. It will be Daycare Day at the Pfitz where fans can get $3 off tickets for groups of 20 or more! As it is with every Tuesday at Pfitzner Stadium, all military, teachers, and first responders receive a free grandstand ticket with proof of valid identification as part of our Salute to Service Tuesday. Wednesday night's game is scheduled for 7:05 ET and it will be Belly Buster Night at the Pfitz! For just $12, fans receive a grandstand ticket to the ballgame as well as access to an all-you-can-eat buffet which will include items from Moe's Southwest Grill, Pizzeria Uno's, and Bob Evans as well as neverending hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, and popcorn while supplies last. It is also Wendy's Wednesday at the Pfitz where fans can receive buy-one-get-one-free tickets when they bring in a receipt from one of Wendy's Old-Fashioned combo meals!
The Nats and Cats will play the finale of their four-game set Thursday night with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 ET. As always, it is Ladies Night at the ballpark where all ladies receive half-price tickets to the game as well as a carnation upon entering the gates courtesy of Flowers in Just Hours. Throughout the game, all women can enter their name in drawings for great prizes including concert tickets at Meriweather Post Pavilion and a $150 spa getaway to Vita Nova Med Spa! It is also Second Chance Thursday sponsored by the Virginia Lottery. Fans can bring in any non-winning Virginia Lottery scratch card for the opportunity to purchase buy-one-get-one-free grandstand tickets.
With Freebie Friday kicking off the three-game series with the Kinston Indians, the P-Nats are unveiling a fantastic giveaway. The team will unveil the Uncle Slam Bobblehead Doll courtesy of Pest Management Services, Inc. and Termidor Termite Defense for the first 1,000 fans through the Pfitzner Stadium gates! Gates open at 6 ET for the 7:05 ET start, so be sure to come early so you won't miss out on what is sure to be one of the hottest collectibles of the season! Also teens holding a PRTC Summer bus pass get $1 off tickets to any Friday home game at the Pfitz this season.
There will be a full schedule on the docket for Saturday night's ballgame with first pitch set for 6:35 ET. The first 1,000 fans through the gates will receive a free P-Nats hat sponsored by our good friends at NOVEC who will also be sponsoring the fireworks extravaganza held after the game!. It is also Busch Gardens Fun Card Night where one lucky fan will be walking away with free passes to Busch Gardens Williamsburg!
But the big ticket for fans on Saturday night will be the return of Scout Night to Pfitzner Stadium! After the final out is recorded and the fireworks are finished, all kids are invited to bring their tents and camp out on the outfield at the Pfitz! Once all the kids get settled, a movie will be played on the scoreboard out in left field. Once everyone wakes up in the morning, all kids who camped out will receive a cool scout patch to commemorate their time with the P-Nats! The final game of the homestand will take place on Sunday, July 19 with first pitch scheduled for 1:05 ET. The P-Nats will be beginning a brand new promotion as Kids Eat Free on Sundays at Pfitzner Stadium!. All kids 12 and under will receive a voucher upon entering the stadium that is good for one free regular hot dog and 12oz fountain soft drink. Gates open at noon and fans can receive autographs from select P-Nats players before the game. After the final out is recorded, fans can come down to the outfield to take part in Family Toss with the P-Nats by playing a game of catch on the outfield grass.
As always at Pfitzner Stadium, kids run the bases after every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday home games courtesy of Glory Days Grill.
Spaces are still available for the Potomac Nationals Baseball Camp being held on July 27-29, so sign your child up to get professional instruction on the fundamentals of the game of baseball.
