P-Nats game suspended due to rain

MYRTLE BEACH, SC For the second night in a row, the skies sent its full fury upon the Potomac Nationals. Last night, it was in Kinston, North Carolina. Tonight it was Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. In the end, the game was suspended after two innings. The two teams will play a double-header on Tuesday starting at 5 p.m.

The game was delayed more than half hour due to rain prior to the first scheduled pitch.

Then, in the bottom of the second inning, extreme rain, lightening and thunder put a halt to the game. The Pelicans were up 4-0 at the time. Tomorrow, the first game will be a 9-inning game, picked up in the exact spot where it was put on hold. For the P-Nats, Brett Nyquist (0-3, 10.80) will take over as pitcher in Game No. 1. Left-hander Jon Felfoldi (2-4, 4.24) will be on the mound for Game 2.For the Pelicans, Luis Atilano (5-7, 4.45) will take the mound in the first game, followed in the second by Stephen Russell (3-0, 2.06).
