P-Bruins Add to Alumni Game Roster, Announce Schedule Change

Providence, RI - The Providence Bruins, entering their 20th season in the American Hockey League, announced today that former P-Bruins Fred Knipscheer will participate in the Alumni Game on November 13 at the Dunkin' Donuts Center.

Knipscheer, a 5'9", 190 lb. center, split two seasons with the Providence and Boston Bruins from 1993 to 1995. In his second and final season in Providence, he recorded 29 goals and 34 assists for 63 points, ranking second on the club in points. Over the two seasons, Knipscheer saw time in 53 regular season and playoff contests with Boston, tallying eight goals and four assists. In 133 career games wearing the 'spoked-P,' the forward recorded 55 goals and 47 assists for 102 points.

The Fort Wayne, Indiana native was traded to St. Louis (NHL) following the 1994-95 season and played in one game for the Blues. He put up career numbers for the Blues' AHL affiliate, the Worcester Ice Cats, in 1995-96, recording 36 goals and 37 assists for a team-high 73 points. Following his season in Worcester, Knipscheer spent time with multiple IHL clubs, including Phoenix, Indianapolis, Utah, Kentucky, Cincinnati and Milwaukee before finishing his professional career with the Milwaukee Admirals (IHL) in 2000.

Over the next month, the Providence Bruins will continue to unveil the roster of players that will return to Providence for the November 13 Alumni Game.
