
Monarchs Announce 2011-12 Promotional Schedule

MANCHESTER, NH - The Manchester Monarchs, the primary affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, have released the team's 2011-12 promotional schedule featuring their annual New Year's Eve Celebration and Max's Birthday, as well as Education Day, Mullets In Movember and Pink In The Rink, Monarchs President Darren Abbott announced today.
Individual tickets for the 2011-12 season will go on sale to the public on Monday, September 26 at 9:30 a.m. and can be purchased by logging onto www.manchestermonarchs.com, by visiting the Verizon Wireless Arena Box Office or through Ticketmaster. Monarchs Ticket Package Holders are invited to PJ O'Sullivan's on Tuesday, September 27 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. to pick up their ticket packages.
The annual New Year's Eve indoor fireworks show will be held on Saturday, December 31, following the Monarchs game against the Providence Bruins. The first 2,000 fans on New Year's Eve will also receive a Monarchs Glow In The Dark Rally Towel, courtesy of Manchester Subaru. Max's Birthday celebration will be on Sunday, March 11 when his friends, Monarchs fans and Those Funny Little People wish him a Happy 11th Birthday. The Monarchs will also bring back Max & Cheese for Opening Weekend on Friday, October 7 and Saturday, October 8 where fans are asked to bring a box of macaroni and cheese to the games, use it as a noise maker and then donate it to the New Hampshire Food Bank following each game.
As announced on Monday, the Monarchs Care Foundation, the charitable arm of the Monarchs, will partner with Norris Cotton Cancer Center and The Movember Foundation to raise funds and awareness to fight cancers affecting men, specifically prostate cancer, with Mullets In Movember on Saturday, November 19. The first 3,000 fans to Mullets In Movember will receive mullet wigs and mustaches to wear as the Monarchs take on the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins at 7:00 p.m.
The Monarchs Care Foundation is also teaming up with Catholic Medical Center to raise awareness and donations to fight breast cancer with the second annual Pink In The Rink on Saturday, February 11 when the Monarchs face-off with the Connecticut Whale.
The Monarchs will be celebrating Canadian Heritage Night on Saturday, October 29 with special Canadian themed jerseys. The second annual Education Day will turn the Verizon Wireless Arena into the largest classroom in New Hampshire on Wednesday, November 9 when the Monarchs host the Portland Pirates at 11:00 a.m. Sunday Fundays will continue this season with kids (12 and under) receiving Color-Me Pennants and crayons at every Sunday home game.
"We are thrilled to get our 11th season underway," said Abbott. "We have several exciting promotions planned and look forward to celebrating Monarchs hockey with our fans. It's going to be a fun and exciting season and we look forward to dropping the puck."
In addition, the first 2,000 fans in attendance at the Monarchs Home Opener on Friday, October 7 will receive pom-poms, courtesy of Autofair. Following both games on Opening Weekend, fans will receive their 2011-12 magnetic schedule.
The special Saturday matinee game returns in conjunction with the second annual Faith & Family Night as the Monarchs host the Hershey Bears at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 14. The Monarchs will say thank you to their fans with Fan Appreciation Day on Sunday, April 15 with giveaways all day long! The first 2,000 fans to Fan Appreciation Day will receive a player bobblehead. Fans will also get to choose which player will be featured on the bobblehead. Voting will take place throughout the month of September.
In addition, the Monarchs Care Foundation will continue to utilize its fans with its charitable efforts including the Toys For Tots Toy Drive where fans can bring a new, unwrapped toy for children in need on Saturday, November 26. New this season, the Monarchs are asking fans to donate stuffing on Sunday, December 4 for the Stuffing For Stockings Food Drive to benefit New Horizons. The Teddy Bear Toss on Sunday, December 11, allows fans to throw stuffed animals onto the ice to be given to local charities. The final home game of the regular season on Sunday, April 15 will also feature the Monarchs annual Shirt Off Our Back promotion where the players' jerseys will be raffled off during the game and winners will meet the team when they receive their jersey at the end of the game.
