Oye Named Texas League Pitcher of the Week

Monday the Texas League recognized Matt Oye as the league's Pitcher of the Week for May 12-19. The Travs RH tossed seven shutout frames last Thursday to help Arkansas finish off a four-game series sweep of instate rival Northwest Arkansas.
Rey Navarro's two-out single in the first coupled with Brett Eibner's two-out single in the sixth made up the Naturals only offense against Oye. In between, the former Washington State Cougar hurled five no-hit frames. During the outing Oye did not allow a runner to advance beyond first base.
Oye, a native of Spokane, Washington, becomes the second Travelers pitcher to earn the achievement this season. Jarrett Grube was named Texas League Pitcher of the Week for April 21-28.
Oye and the Travs begin a three-game series on Wednesday in San Antonio. Oye aims for his fifth win of the season as he faces Missions RH Keyvius Sampson. Coverage of the game begins at 6:40 on Sports Animal 920 with the Travs Dugout Show.
