Northern Colorado Owlz News Release
Michael Snyder went 4-for-4, while Jake Boyd and Robbie Powell combined for 3.1 scoreless innings in a 6-4 Owlz win over Helena on Sunday afternoon.
Orem's middle of the lineup asserted itself this afternoon, as the two through six hitters in the Owlz lineup combined to go 12-for-21 with all six runs.
Sherman Johnson added a much-needed insurance run in the bottom of the 8th inning with a solo home run. Johnson's homer loomed large, because the Brewers put men at 2nd and 3rd and one out in the 9th inning. Robbie Powell relieved Boyd and got the next two batters for his fourth save of the year.
Gabriel Perez got the start for Orem, and his first attempt at an Owlz record 9th win fell short, since he surrendered four runs in 5.2 innings.
Orem will now hit the road for a seven-game road trip that begins on Tuesday evening in Great Falls. You can listen to all the action at audio.oremowlz.com.
