Northern Colorado Owlz News Release
Jarrod Parks hit his first home run of the year, while Wade Hinkle blasted his third home run, but the Owlz fell 12-7 on Tuesday evening at Suplizio Field.
The Owlz scored in the first inning for the second consecutive night, but the Grand Junction Rockies scored three runs or more in three separate innings to knock off the Owlz.
The Rockies got four runs in the first, with the big blow being a 3-run triple by David Dahl. Dahl tripled in two more in the 3-run 4th inning to go 3-for-5 with two runs and 5 RBIs.
Grand Junction got three more runs in the 5th to put the game away. The Owlz tried to come back with five runs in the 6th, but fell short in their comeback.
Orem is off to its worst start in franchise history with a 1-8 record, but will turn to Mark Sappington on Wednesday evening to try and end the five-game losing streak. All the action can be heard live at audio.oremowlz.com.
