
Owlz Earn Split with Osprey

(Orem, UT) - Johan Sala came through in the clutch once again, helping the Owlz (17-34) beat the Missoula Osprey (28-23) 3-2 in the series finale on Sunday afternoon at the Home of the Owlz.
Missoula opened the scoring for the third consecutive game, grabbing a run in the third inning. With two outs and runners at first and second, Tristen Carranza singled up the middle, scoring Cam Coursey, giving the Osprey a 1-0 lead.
The Owlz battled back to tie the game and then take the lead in the fourth inning. With one out, D'Shawn Knowles tripled and then scored when Torii Hunter Jr. smacked a double to left, tying the game at one. A few pitchers later, Hunter came racing home on a wild pitch, scoring the Owlz second run of the inning, giving the Owlz a 2-1 lead.
Once again Carranza came through for the Osprey, tying the game at two with a two-out RBI single in the fifth inning. The Owlz rallied back to grab the lead in the eighth inning. With one out, Jose Quezada doubled. One night after winning the game in the 10th inning with a sacrifice fly, Johan Sala delivered again, this time lining a single to left to score Quezada from second to give the Owlz a 3-2 lead.
Ryan Randel (1) threw a scoreless ninth to secure the win. Zac Kristofak (2-3) earned the win while Liu Fuenmayor (3-2) was charged with the loss.
