Uncasville, CT - Overseas play this week began with an exciting Connecticut Sun matchup between Dewanna Bonner, Jasmine Thomas and CBK Mersin and Yvonne Anderson and Umana Reyer in the EuroCup Semifinals. After being down by as many as 16, Anderson and Umana Reyer were victorious, winning the close battle 85-80. Anderson led her squad with 25 points, one rebound, nine assists and one steal. Bonner had a double-double for CBK Mersin with 14 points, 12 rebounds, two assists and three blocks. J. Thomas added eight points, four rebounds, one assist and one block in the effort. Umana Reyer moved onto the EuroCup Championship game, where they fell to Tango Bourges, 74-38. Anderson had 12 points, three rebounds and one assist in the final.

Bonner, J. Thomas and CBK Mersin fell to Galatasaray in the EuroCup third place game, 75-67. Bonner had a double-double with 22 points, 13 rebounds, one assist and one steal. J. Thomas tallied seven points, three rebounds and two assists. CBK Mersin finished in fourth place in the EuroCup final standings for the 2021-22 season, with a record of 13-3.

Beatrice Mompremier and Uni Gyor took on Hungarian League opponent, TFSE-MTK, in Game 2 of the series to get the opportunity to play for fifth place in league playoffs. Uni Gyor was victorious, winning the game 77-62. Mompremier was dominant, leading her team with 22 points and 18 rebounds. Uni Gyor won the series 2-0 and is moving on to play No. 7 seed Vasas Csata for fifth place in Hungarian League playoffs.

Alyssa Thomas, Brionna Jones and USK Praha fell to Fenerbahce in the EuroLeague Semifinal, 83-74. B. Jones had 21 points, seven rebounds, one assist, three steals and three blocks. A. Thomas notched a double-double with 12 points, 14 rebounds, eight assists and one steal in the effort. USK Praha moved on to face Avenida in the EuroLeague playoff game for third place, losing 71-59. B. Jones led the way for her team with 26 points, 11 rebounds, one assist and one steal. A. Thomas added seven points, nine rebounds, seven assists and three steals in the outing.

Connecticut Sun players are back in action overseas this week beginning with Mompremier and Uni Gyor taking on Vasas Csata in Game 1 of the Hungarian League playoff series for fifth place at 12:00 P.M. EST; S. Jones and Gorzow play Arka Gdynia in Game 2 of the Polish League playoff series for third place at 12:00 P.M. EST; and Anderson and Umana Reyer face Campobasso in Game 1 of the Italian League Quarterfinal series at 2:30 P.M. EST on April 12. Bonner, J. Thomas and CBK Mersin play Turkish League foe, Fenerbahce, at 11:00 A.M. EST on April 13. B. Jones, A. Thomas and USK Praha take on Zabiny Brno in Game 1 of the Czech League Final series at 12:00 P.M. EST on April 14. On April 15, Anderson and Umana Reyer play Campobasso in Game 2 of the Italian League quarterfinal series at 1:30 P.M. EST. To close out the week of overseas play, J. Thomas, Bonner and CBK Mersin play Nesibe Aydin at 6:00 A.M. EST; B. Jones, A. Thomas and USK Praha face Zabiny Brno in Game 2 of the Czech League final series at 11:00 A.M. EST; and Mompremier and Uni Gyor play Vasas Csata in Game 2 of the Hungarian League playoff series for fifth place at 12:00 P.M. EST on April 16.
