North Iowa Outlaws News Release

Meeting for the fifth straight time, the North Iowa Outlaws and the Fargo-Moorhead Jets are familiar with each other and the way they play, and for the Outlaws, they are familiar with putting the puck in the back of the net and winning hockey games as they knocked off the Jets 6-3 in front of a pack North Iowa Ice Arena. Over 1,000 fans watch North Iowa come away with a three goal flurry in the first period, watch the Jets control the second period, but saw North Iowa rally back with three goals in the third to keep the Jets wondering weather they can tame the Outlaws this season.

With North Iowa celebrating "Homecoming" after a month away from the friendly confines for the North Iowa Ice Arena, the Outlaws looked sharp on the ice. Sporting Tuxedo jerseys, the Outlaws jumped out to a 3 goal lead in the first with Bryant Skarda and Trevor Doden scoring two minutes apart late in the period, followed by a power play goal from Joe Harcharik a few minutes later.

The second period was all Fargo, as the Jets controlled most of the play, scoring twice to pull within two, but that wasn't enough to slow down the high powered offense from North Iowa. Jack Paul added a goal in the third, which turned out to be the game winner. After the Jets struck back, Tyler Jundt tickled the twine unassisted to give the Outlaws so insurance, and the scoring was finish by Skarda, picking up his second on the night.

Robby Moss made some big saves in the opening period which kept the game close, stopping 47 of 50 shots from the Jets. North Iowa's power play went 1 for 3 on the night, as the Outlaws improved to 5-0 against Fargo this season. The final meeting of a six game series is Saturday night at the North Iowa Ice Arena.
