North Iowa Outlaws News Release

The North Iowa Outlaws set a franchise record Saturday night, winning their 7th consecutive game, a new franchise high. The Outlaws, winners of six in a row earlier this season, knocked off the Fargo Moorhead Jets 3-1, completing a six game series sweep of the Jets, and remain perfect at the friendly confines of the North Iowa Ice Arena.

Saturday night was a lot like Friday, where the Outlaws and Jets played a tight game which came down to the end. North Iowa jumped on the scoreboard first when Matt Morin scored on the power play, with Reed Rushing and Tyler Romasco adding the assist. In the second, the Jets scored to tie the game, setting the stage for another exciting third period.

In the final frame, the teams exchanged chances for 17:00 minutes until the Outlaws Alex Carlson drove into the Fargo zone. Off the wall, Carlson fed Harcharik whose shot rebounded right to Ross Ring-Jarvi who put the Outlaws up for good. With :21 seconds remaining, Shea Walters added insurance with a goal that set off a wild celebration at the North Iowa Ice Arena.

The Outlaws offense was backed again by another solid effort from Robby Moss in between the pipes. Moss stopped 31 of 32 to pick up his 14th win of the season. North Iowa remains perfect at home, winning seven in a row, six in a row against Fargo. North Iowa opens a three game set with the Southern Minnesota Express next weekend with round one of the border battle opening in Owatonna on Friday night.
