Chico Outlaws News Release
CHICO, CALIF - The Chico Outlaws announced today that they plan to break the record for the world's largest toga party at their game on Thursday, August 27, 2009 against the Yuma Scorpions at Nettleton Stadium. All attendees who come dressed in a toga will be admitted to the game for just $2, and the game will also feature the popular "Thirsty Thursday" $2 beer promotion.
The current Guinness Book of World Records has the largest toga party at 2,166 toga clad party goers. The record was originally set on August 30, 2003 in Cottage Grove, Oregon during their Animal House Celebration and Toga Party Parade. The parade scene from the movie "Animal House" was originally filmed in Cottage Grove.
"We are excited to offer this unique experience to our fans, but we cannot break this record without the help of the Chico community," said Outlaws General Manager Curt Jacey. "We want to invite as many people as possible out to the ballpark in their toga attire to help make history at Nettleton Stadium."
