TUCSON, AZ - The Tucson Toros, (6-3) demolished the Calgary Vipers, (11-6) at Hi Corbett field Wednesday night as the home team belted out 22 total hits in a 14-4 win.
Six Toros had multi-hit performances, with Skip Adams and Lino Garcia leading the way with four hits each. Adams, who opened up the game for the Toros with a leadoff homerun, ended the night a triple shy of the cycle as he went 4-6, scored two runs and hit in two RBI. Garcia went 4-5, with four singles, and he also scored a pair of runs and drove in a pair of RBI.
Andre Marshall, Ryan Priddy and Jim Rushford also had solid performances on the night as each had three hits in the ballgame. Marshall was the top RBI man in the game as he drove in four, including a two run blast in the first inning. Rushford was right behind Marshall as he drove in three RBI.
Lorenzo Barcelo, (6-5) got the start, and the win, for the Toros as he threw seven innings where he gave up three runs, on ten hits. The veteran righty also fanned four Calgary batters, adding to his league leading total of 75 K's.
The two teams will face off again on Thursday as they close out their three game series. The game is set to start at 7:00 pm, with Hi Corbett gates opening at 6:00 pm.
