
Toros Turn Calgary's Power Off

Tucson, AZ-The Tucson Toros defeated the Calgary Vipers 3-2 on Tuesday at Hi Corbett Field. The victory improves the Toros record to (5-3) for the second half, and (22-24) overall for the season.
Tonight's game was delayed 43 minutes due to a power surge that knocked out a couple of the light poles at the stadium.
Toros Starting Pitcher Vince Davis picks up the win for his effort. It is the first victory of the season for Davis as he improves his record to (1-2). Davis threw 7 outstanding innings while surrendering only 1 ER off of 2 hits.
Closer Reid Price earned his 5th save of the season as he retired the Vipers in order during the top of the 9th.
DH Jim Rushford turned in a solid offensive output, going 3-4 with 2 RBIs. LF Junior Spivey went 1-4 with a triple and also accounted for the other Toro RBI.
The Toros face off against the Vipers tomorrow night for game 2 of the 3 game set. Gametime is set for 7 pm at Hi Corbett Field.
