
OurSports Central announces AFL Players of the Week

New Orleans VooDoo quarterback Danny Wimprine, Philadelphia Soul defensive back Mike Brown and Tampa Bay Storm wide receiver Sedrick Robinson were named the OurSports Central Arena Football League Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Week, respectively, for week two of the AFL season.
Wimprine in his first ever AFL start, finished 27 of 37 (73%) with no interceptions, 309 yards and six touchdowns in the VooDoo's 54-53 win over the Orlando Predators.
Brown contributed two interceptions, four tackles and one pass breakup in the Soul's 60-49 win over the Chicago Rush.
Robinson returned five kicks for 101 yards (20.2-yard average) had one special teams tackle and recovered a kick off the bar and returned it six yards for a TD in the Storm's 69-48 victory over the Georgia Force.
Other players considered for Offensive honors were Cleveland QB Raymond Philyaw, Philadelphia QB Tony Graziani, San Jose QB Mark Grieb, Los Angeles QB Sonny Cumbie and Georgia WR Carl Morris.
Others considered for the Defensive award were New York DB Levy Brown, Arizona DL Wendall Gaines, Los Angeles DB Eddie Canonico, Dallas DB Bobby Perry, and New Orleans DB Keon Raymond.
Other players considered for Special Teams honors included Tampa Bay's Seth Marler (field goals of 19 and 24 yards and 9-9 on extra points), San Jose's A.J. Haglund (23-yard FG and 9-9 on extra points) Dallas' Will Pettis (two missed field goal returns for 37 yards, two kick returns for 31 yards), Chicago's Jonathan Ordway (seven returns for 101 yards) Philadelphia's Mike Brown (four returns for 108 yards with a 54-yard TD).
