
AFL Sets Another Attendance Mark

NEW YORK - The Arena Football League is averaging 13,389 fans per game through the first two weeks of its 2008 season, which is the highest two-week cumulative average in the League's 22-season history.
Combined with Week 1's average of 13,979, the League's average of 13,389 fans per game passes the previous two-week record of 13,258 in 2004. The second week of the 2008 season averaged 12,799 fans per game, the third-highest average attendance ever for a Week 2.
The 2008 season two-week cumulative average is up seven percent vs. 2007's two-week cumulative of 12,469, and up eight percent vs. the 2007 season-ending average of 12,415. Week 2's average attendance was up five percent compared to 2007's Week 2 figure of 12,227.
The Tampa Bay Storm posted the highest attendance figure of Week 2 and the season with 18,194 fans for their home opener against the Georgia Force. The Chicago Rush sold out its game against Philadelphia with 16,051 fans in attendance.
