KALAMAZOO, MI – The Evansville Otters won their fourth game in a row, defeating the Kalamazoo Kings 4-3. It was the Otters first win in Kalamazoo this season.

After stranding runners in each of the first three innings, Evansville touched up starter Lee Naplin for two runs in the fourth. After O. J. Garza singled, he was caught stealing. Terrence McClain then followed with a strikeout. With two outs, Brian McKenna walked. Sean Flynn jumped on the first pitch, doubling into right-center field. Frank Scott singled next, scoring Flynn to make it 2-0.

The Kings got a run back in the sixth on a solo homer by Fehlandt Lentini. The Otters got the run back and more in the seventh, when Denver Stuckey singled. David Trujillo hit a ground-rule double, advancing Stuckey to third. Steve Martin singled back through the middle on the first pitch, scoring both runners to make it 4-1.

After the Kings scored a run in the seventh, Brandon Rogers homered to lead off the ninth to make it 4-3. Jason Faigin shut the door the rest of the way, striking out Luis Espinosa to end the game.

The win puts the Otters three games up on the Kings for the East Division's final playoff spot. Evansville will send Justin Garcia to the mound tomorrow against the Kings' ace, Josh Beshears.
