
Comeback City: Wild Things Win in Ten

WASHINGTON, PA - The Washington Wild Things, presented by Washington Federal Savings Bank, scored seven runs in the final three innings to edge the Chillicothe Paints 8-7 in 10 innings at Falconi Field.
It was Bill Greenwell's day, as he sang the National Anthem before the game and stepped the plate in the bottom of the 10th with two outs and the score tied at seven. Greenwell hit a home run over the centerfield wall, improving Washington 46-24 on the season.
The Wild Things trailed 7-1 entering the eighth inning, but they managed to post four runs on four hits in the inning. In the bottom of the ninth, leadoff hitter Jack Headley hit a solo homer to cut the lead to 7-6, and Mike Arbinger followed with a homer to right to tie the game.
B.J. Borsa pitched the final 1 2/3 and improved his record to 6-0 on the season. Ramon Royce (2-3) shouldered the loss for Chillicothe.
The Wild Things are back in action tomorrow night against Chillicothe at Falconi Field. The game is scheduled to start at 7:05 p.m.
