Evansville Otters News Release
June 18, 2008, Evansville, IN - The Otters dropped their fifth straight game tonight by a final of 9-5, blowing a four-run lead in the process to the River City Rascals. Otters led 4-0 after the top of the third. A homerun by Isaac Omura sparked the early offense, but the Rascals answered with four in the bottom of the frame. River City would add five more runs on three homeruns but Evansville kept battling. Trailing 9-5 after a solo homerun from Jose Pineda, the Otters would load the bases in the ninth, bringing Christian Reyes to the plate representing the tying run. He would bounce into a double play to end the threat and the Otters would fall two games back of River City for the top spot in the West Division.
Evansville is back in action tomorrow night as they begin a six-game home stand at Bosse Field against the Rockford Riverhawks. Evansville native Adam Rogers will take the mound on a Thirsty Thursday as the Otters try to end their second longest losing streak of the season.
