(Erie, PA) Spencer Abraham scored on the first shift of overtime, capping a third period comeback as the Erie Otters downed the Spitfires 5-4 on Saturday night in front of a sellout crowd at the Erie Insurance Arena.
Alexander Khokhlachev (16, 17) had a pair of goals for Windsor (24-30-2-6), while Ryan Verbeek (2) and Josh Ho-Sang (12) added the others, as the Spits built a 4-2 lead with 16 minutes to play in the third period.
Dane Fox's second of the night cut the lead to 4-3, before Abraham tied the game up at 9:56. In overtime, Abraham took a pass from Jack Kuzmyk at the Erie blueline before skating into the Windsor zone and wristing a shot that changed direction off Graeme Brown's stick and beat Jordan DeKort (24 saves) high to the glove side. Oscar Dansk made 21 saves in the win.
The Spitfires are right back at it Sunday afternoon as they take on the IceDogs in Niagara.
