Erie Otters News Release

Erie, Pa. - Spencer Abraham's second goal of the game lifted the Erie Otters to an exciting 5-4 win in overtime against the Windsor Spitfires in front of a sellout crowd of 4,490 fans at Erie Insurance Arena Saturday night.

Abraham scored 31 seconds into the extra session as his wrist shot from the top of the left circle found the net just under the crossbar on the glove side of Jordan DeKort.

The game started off auspiciously for the Otters after Spitfires forward Alex Khokhlachev scored 12 seconds into the game to give the Spitfires a 1-0 lead.

Connor Crisp tied the game at one after he fired a wrist shot from the right circle through the blocker of DeKort for his 21st goal of the season at 5:03.

Ryan Verbeek put the Spitfires back on top with a power play goal at 9:26. The Otters matched the tally just over three minutes later as Dane Fox put in his own rebound for his 15th goal of the season.

Khokhlachev scored his second goal of the game 7:03 into the second period to give Windsor a 3-2 lead heading into the third. Josh Ho-Sang doubled the Windsor lead with his 12th goal of the season at 4:04.

The Otters answered back 52 seconds after the Ho-Sang goal as Fox scored his second goal of the game, taking a drop pass from J.P. Labardo in the left circle and ripping a shot through the blocker of DeKort to make it 4-3.

Abraham tied the game exactly five minutes after the Fox goal. Abraham hustled to the high slot to keep the puck in the Windsor zone, and skated to the right circle where he fired a backhand into the top of the net for his sixth goal of the season.

That would not be all for Abraham, who coasted from his own blue line down the right wing and criss crossed into the Windsor zone where he fired his decided shot from the left circle for the win.
