Erie Otters News Release
SAGINAW, MI - The Erie Otters headed to Saginaw on Saturday to take on the Spirit in the second of their two game road weekend. Danial Singer broke the ice for Erie around the midpoint of the period, but was answered just two minutes later by a tying goal from Saginaw's Brady Gilmour. Erie captain Kyle Maksimovich elevated the Otters back into the lead with his 100th career goal, becoming only the 9th player in franchise history to reach the century mark. Reagan O'Grady responded with a goal for the Spirit, and the teams entered the intermission tied at two.
In the second, Maxim Golod scored a goal to elevate Erie back on top, but Saginaw responded with three unanswered goals from Blade Jenkins, Damien Giroux, and Nicholas Porco to make it 5-2 going into the final frame.
In the final frame, the teams traded opportunities until Danny Katic added another goal for Saginaw to extend their lead to three. Chad Yetman found the back of the net just minutes later, but it proved to be not enough as the Otters dropped this one 6-4 to the Spirit.
