Otters Sign 2026 U18 Selection Liam Karbowski

Erie, Pennsylvania -- One of the top storylines heading into and out of training camp has its resolution as the Otters add another goaltender to the mix.
General Manager Dave Brown and Director of Hockey Operations Scott Grieve announced today that goaltender Liam Karbowski has been signed to an OHL Scholarship and Development Agreement.
Karbowski comes to Erie by-way of the OHL U18 Draft where he was taken in the second round, #22 overall.
The 6'2, 166lbs netminder impressed in the preseason, appearing in two games for Erie posting a 1-0-0-0 record, 3.33 GAA and .917 save percentage, earning his way onto the club's roster for the 2026/27 season.
Karbowski spoke with excitement about joining the organization and what he will bring to the crease on a nightly basis.
"I'm really excited to join the Erie Otters organization, it's been a dream since a little kid," Karbowski said. "Amazing and welcoming coaching staff and organization. We have a great group of guys and I'm really excited to show what we can do this year."
Grieve spoke about what the Otters see in Karbowski and what made him the choice when it came to the vacant goaltending spot on the roster heading into the regular season.
"We are very excited to welcome Liam and the Karbowski family to the Otters," Grieve said. "Liam has continued to earn the opportunity with his consistency throughout our orientation camp, main camp and preseason. We look forward to working with Liam both on and off the ice."
The Otters are thrilled to welcome Liam Karbowski to the Flagship City and look forward to seeing what the goaltender will bring to the organization this season.
