Erie Otters News Release
ERIE, PA - The Erie Otters returned to Erie Insurance Arena on Friday evening, taking on the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds. Erie began the game with promising offensive pressure, but would fail to score on two consecutive powerplay opportunities. The Greyhounds answered with two late period goals from Alex Johnston and Cole MacKay to put them ahead 2-0 heading into the second.
In the second frame, Erie found the back of the net with a goal from Brendan Sellan, who tallied his third of the year. Sault Ste. Marie would answer with a goal from Morgan Frost, bouncing the puck off of the end boards and behind Erie goaltender Daniel Murphy.
In the third, the teams would trade opportunities until Barrett Hayton provided the empty net goal for the Greyhounds to put the game out of reach for Erie.
The Otters will travel to Hamilton and take on the Bulldogs at 4PM tomorrow afternoon.
